New! Another Church Rant!!!

Yeah. It's back.
I just read John Eldredge's Wild at Heart. Yeah, I know, WAY past time, bibliophile. I thought it was all "church hype", roughly about nothing. Well, I was wrong.

BUT, if I was wrong, Why on earth haven't I seen the change in men at church? Or even, Why hasn't the church radically changed the way it treats men?

We're still told to be "nice", and that nice is the same as good. SCREW THAT LIE! We were given strength for a reason. If not, then there truly are no differences between the sexes and the Bible is false, for there are different challenges and promises to men and women. Well, I know the Bible is true. Therefore, we are supposed to use our strength. Part of using strength is knowing how to control it, to use enough, not more or less than is needed.

Being modeled after God's strength and boldness, we should be encouraged to be leaders for change in the church. Not henpecked or shamed. We also should be leading not in the safe areas of ministry, but the dangerous ones. That's probably why I loved prison ministry so much at EIU. There really wasn't any danger, but first timers and those that wouldn't go always seemed scared, like something EVIL was bound to happen. I always thought, "It won't happen, and if it does, I go Home sooner."

I miss doing prison ministry, but a third shift schedule won't allow it. Maybe if and when I get into grad school.
