Last gasps

My car is dead. Well, not quite, but it is also nonfunctional to the point where I won't drive it. Not can't, won't. It's too dangerous. I have some things figured out, at least temporarily. I can get a ride to work with a coworker who lives nearby. Church, now that will be trickier. I will have to figure out something for the violin lessons I'm giving; I just started, and I can't leave her in the lurch. Worship practice may also be tricky, but not necessarily.

opportunity knocks?

Well, times have become interesting. Oops, that's a curse in some places. I might also say engaging and unexpected. I'm getting to play a little more music, at least until the first of April, and this actually on mandolin, violin, AND flute. Very rare is the occasion to use all three. I've also gotten to try out some amazing boardgames recently, notably Tigris & Euphrates, and Polarity, with some others yet to try.

On the work front, there's been a lot of openings at work, ten of them being team lead positions. My supervisor encouraged all of us that are full time to apply for those positions, so I applied for three. Problem: I don't know what work experience is applicable, so my internal applications were pretty bare. But, he asked for us to apply, so we'll see.

update on dad

Sorry I haven't updated. My dad's surgery went well; the tumor was apparently superficial. The doctors also fixed his prostate while they were inside. He has to go in for checkups every three months for a while, to make sure it doesn't return or some similar thing.
He called me the next morning at 8:47 a. m., which is incredibly early for me. Unless I'm playing for church, I'm not up then. But he sounded good, and it was great to hear his voice.
